Kathmandu, Shawwal 9, 1438, Jul 3, 2017, SPA -- At least nine people were killed and seven are missing after heavy monsoon rains triggered landslides and flooding in several parts of the country, an official at the Home Ministry said on Monday. According to dpa, three members of a family died on Sunday when a landslide struck their house in a village in Parbat district, said Krishna Rawat, head of the country's disaster management agency. The landslide killed two people in the neighbouring district of Kaski on Sunday while three others were killed in Terhathum district in eastern Nepal on Saturday, he said. "On Saturday, three people were injured and six have gone missing from various places. Most of them were missing in landslides. A 55-year-old woman was swept away in flooding," he told dpa.
