Caracas, Sha'ban 15, 1438, May 11, 2017, SPA -- The death toll in a month of anti-government protests in Venezuela mounted Wednesday as another protester was killed. The country's public ministry said on Twitter that Miguel Castillo, 27, was killed during a demonstration on the outskirts of the capital Caracas. Opposition leader Henrique Capriles, governor of Miranda state where Castillo died, put the blame squarely on President Nicolas Maduro's repression of demonstrations calling for his ouster. "Another young Venezuelan assassinated for your sick power ambition," he wrote in a Twitter message directed to the socialist leader. Another man wounded during protests Monday died of his injuries Wednesday, human rights ombudsman Tarek William Saab said, bringing the official death toll from the political unrest to 39. Clashes continued Wednesday in Caracas, as several thousand people attempting to march to the city centre were met by a police cordon that repelled them with tear gas as armoured cars blocked roads. --SPA 03:35 LOCAL TIME 00:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w398055
