Muscat, Rajab 17, 1438, April 14, 2017, SPA -- Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel bin Zaid Al-Toraifi participated in the 40th General Meeting of the Arab Satellite Organization (ARABSAT) which was held here, in the presence of the Ministers and heads of delegations participating in the meeting. Al-Toraifi said that Arab Satellite Communications Company (ARABSAT), which ranked the sixth in the world, is a pioneer organization in the region. The Minister added that ARABSAT has signed a strategic agreement to build a new satellite with a technology company in the framework of the strategic partnership between ARABSAT and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. The new satellite will provide broadband, mobile and Arab aviation services in the Arab world, Europe and Africa. He pointed out that the ARABSAT has succeeded in reaching several agreements to provide huge space capacity to cover both Libya and Sudan with total contracts amounting to 150 million dollars.
