Jakarta, Rabi'I 24, 1438, Dec 23, 2016, SPA -- Four Indonesian navy personnel who boarded a Philippine fishing vessel have been missing for more than a week, the navy said on Friday. According to dpa, the sailors lost contact on December 14 while escorting a Philippine vessel suspected of illegal fishing to a nearby naval base in Melonguane, the main town on Talaud islands, the navy said in a statement. They were crew members of the Indonesian warship KRI Layang, tasked with patrolling the area, the navy said. Six warships and two aircraft had been sent to search for the missing crew but poor weather was hampering the operation, it said. It was not clear how many people were on board the Philippine vessel. --SPA 13:00 LOCAL TIME 10:00 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w297103
