Amsterdam, Rabi'I 7, 1438, Dec 6, 2016, SPA -- One of the senior commanders of a Ugandan militia that has been blamed for tens of thousands of deaths portrayed himself as a victim at the start of his trial at International Criminal Court on Tuesday, dpa reported. The charges focus on attacks on four displaced people's camps. Ongwen told the court that he himself was a victim of the LRA, given that it had abducted him at age 14 and forced him to fight in its ranks. Bensouda said she intended to call victims and former LRA fighters as witnesses. Ongwen is believed to have been one of the most influential deputies of LRA leader Joseph Kony, who is still on the run. The court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Ongwen in 2005. He surrendered in the Central African Republic in January 2015. --SPA 17:01 LOCAL TIME 14:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w284564
