Washington , Safar 22, 1438, Nov 22, 2016, SPA -- A school bus driver has been arrested in the US state of Tennessee after at least five children were killed in a road accident, local media reported Tuesday according to dpa. The death toll from the accident, which occurred Monday evening local time, had originally been reported to be six children. Twelve students remain in hospital, with six in a critical condition, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported. The bus, carrying 37 students, crashed into a tree in the city of Chattanooga. The students were aged between four and 10 years old. Bus driver Johnthony Walker, 24, has been charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, Chattanooga police chief Fred Fletcher told reporters. Walker could face more charges as the case proceeds to a Hamilton County Grand Jury, Fletcher said.
