Frankfurt, Muharram 6, 1438, Oct 7, 2016, SPA -- German industrial production rose strongly in August, according to figures from the national statistics office released on Friday. According to dpa, output was up 2.5 per cent on July, rising sharply faster than the average 1.0 per cent predicted by analysts. The figure stood in marked contrast to July, when there was a decline of 1.5 per cent. Leading the rise was manufacturing production, which rose 3.3 per cent, based on a 4.7 rise in investment goods.
