Berlin, Dhu-AlHijjah 11, 1437, September 13, 2016, SPA -- Three people were arrested Tuesday after police conducted six raids in a counterterrorism operation in two German states, authorities said according to dpa. The raids were carried out by some 200 officers in the states of Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, a spokeswoman for the Federal Criminal Police Office BKA said. She declined to confirm a report by German newspaper Die Welt that said the three men arrested were Syrian asylum seekers and that the raids included searches of three refugee homes. Federal prosecutors in Karlsruhe - who are in charge of terrorism cases in Germany - were due to give a statement about the raids later on Tuesday, the BKA said. Germany has been on high alert since two terrorist attacks were carried out in the space of one week in July. Both were claimed by Daesh terrorist group. --SPA 10:55 LOCAL TIME 07:55 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
