Colombo, Dhu-AlQa'dah 30, 1437, Sep 2, 2016, SPA -- UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday urged the Sri Lankan government to release lands held by the military in the country's north and reduce the army's presence in the region. Ban called for the demilitarization ahead of a visit to Jaffna, located 396 kilometers north of the capital Colombo.
