Arrestees in Eker blast case trained by Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Bahraini Interior Ministry says

Manama, Shawwal 08, 1437, July 13, 2016, SPA -- Police investigations have led to the arrest of a number of suspects who planned and executed the terrorist blast on June 30 in East Eker near Shaikh Jaber Al Subah Highway towards Nuwaidrat, the Bahraini Interior Ministry said in a statement issued here on Tuesday. It explained that the blast caused the death of a Bahraini woman who was driving on the opposite side of the road towards Sitra. Shrapnel from the bomb penetrated her head causing her to crash her car into an iron barrier in the middle of the road. Three of her children who were with her in the car were injured. A second civilian car, nearby shops and both public and private property were also damaged in the blast. The statement said that the arrestees are: Hassan Jassim Hassan Al Haiki, 35, works for a private company. He received military training on making and using weapons and explosives by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and Hussain Ibrahim Ali Hussain Marzooq, 26, works for a private company. He traveled to Iran and received military training in the assembly of explosives, planting of bombs and the use of weapons (RPG and Kalashnikovs). It added that the wanted suspects include Hussain Ahmed Abdullah Ahmed Hussain, 27, works for a private company. He is a fugitive in Iran and has close links with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
