Buenos Aires, Sha'ban 17, 1437, May 24, 2016, SPA -- A player in a regional Argentinian football league died from injuries sustained in a violent encounter on the pitch with a rival team, the league reported Monday, according to dpa. San Jorge player Micael Favre, 24, suffered an apparently accidental blow to the head from the knee of an opposing player during a game Sunday in Villa Elisa. Just as Favre got to his feet, another player from the Defensores team sent him to the ground again with an apparent blow to the face. Favre was brought to a hospital in convulsions and died soon after, La Nacion reported. Both players from the Defensores team were temporarily detained. The state attorney has ordered an autopsy on Favre. --SPA 01:35 LOCAL TIME 22:35 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
