He added, "There are also the challenges of international peacekeeping and security, and humanitarian challenges through a wave of immigrants and refugees who have been displaced because of the armed conflicts, an example of what is happening to Syrian brotherly people from the oppression of Bashar Al-Assad's regime, leading to the displacement of Syrian people to other countries. There are also other challenges we face, such as the fight against terrorism, the prevention of violent extremism, the rule of law and the role of the next UN Secretary General." Advisor Al-Saad continued, saying, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its policy through cooperation with everyone to achieve security and international peace, peaceful settlement of disputes, respect for human rights. The Kingdom also looks optimistically for the future of the international community in the hope that the United Nations embodies what we are gathered today around, namely the achievement of international peace and security." He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has sought within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, the Arab League, the Orgainization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations to adopt policies and initiatives all aimed at reducing tensions, putting an end to the regional conflicts, countering terrorism and the renunciation of violence and extremism, as well as signing bulk of the international treaties and agreements that maintain international peace and security, in addition to its active participation in everything that may achieve the welfare of the people and the service of humanity. He concluded by saying "Our responsibility is to maintain and develop this world in which we live so as not to give room for the mischievous hands to badly deprive us and future generations of living in peace." --SPA 12:01 LOCAL TIME 09:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
