UNITED NATIONS, Jumada II 16, 1437, March 25, 2016, SPA --The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) Friday warned that the world needs to do more to prevent “nuclear terrorism.” “Terrorism is spreading and the possibility of using nuclear material cannot be excluded,” IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano told Agence France-Presse (AFP) in an interview. “Member states need to have sustained interest in strengthening nuclear security. The countries which do not recognize the danger of nuclear terrorism is the biggest problem.” Amano’s comments come ahead of asummit of some 50 leaders in Washington on March 31 and April 1 on ensuring that nuclear material in the world’s roughly 1,000 atomic facilities are secured. --SPA 20:37 LOCAL TIME 17:37 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
