Pakistani Siamese twins to be separated next Saturday

Riyadh, 15 Jumada II,1437 AH, 24 March,2016 , SPA -- In implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to host the Pakistani Siamese twins, Fatima and Masha'el, and conduct the necessary tests for them, the medical team for separation of Siamese twins operations has decided to perform a separation surgery for the twins on Saturday, 17 Jumada II 1437 H corresponding to March 26, 2016 AD, at King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children in King Abdulaziz Medical City of National Guard Ministry in Riyadh. The Adviser at the Royal Court and head of the medical team, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah explained that multiple medical tests for the female twins have been undergone which show that they are conjoined at the lower chest and abdomen, and share in the chest wall and liver, indicating that the tests showed the possibility of separating them with a success rate of 80% through a surgical operation that takes about seven hours during six stages with the participation of twenty doctors and specialists. The twins have arrived in the city of Riyadh according to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who ordered to host them with their parents to explore the possibility of separating them.
