Terrorist Somali group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, which saw gunmen storm a hotel in central Mogadishu after detonating two car bomb outside its gates, officials and witnesses in the Somali capital said. After the explosions, gunfire was heard at the SYL hotel, home to government officials, business professionals and foreign nationals.
