Kabul/Islamabad, Rabi'I 16, 1437, December 27, 2015, SPA -- A strong earthquake in the Hindu Kush mountains has killed a soldier and a pregnant woman, Pakistani media reported Sunday, according to dpa. The deaths occurred when the roof of an army post collapsed following the earthquake measuring more than 6 on the Richter scale, Dawn newspaper reported online. According to the Pakistani Meteorological Department, the quake struck at 12:14 am (1914 GMT Saturday) at a depth of 197 kilometres along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, Dawn reported. The Pakistani department originally reported that the quake was of a magnitude of 6.9, while the German Geologicial Research Institute in Potsdam said the earthquake measured 6.3 on the Richter scale.
