Jeddah, Rabi'I 19, 1439, Dec 7, 2017, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in partnership with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) and the International Network of Religious Peacekeepers (NETW) is organizing from 8 to 11 December 2017 in Dakar, Republic of Senegal, a round table on interreligious dialogue on the conflict in the Central African Republic (CAR). In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the round table will bring together participants from various levels including the Central African Minister of Social Affairs and National Reconciliation, Senegalese government officials, representatives of the UN, the African Union and a wide range of religious and community leaders. Participants will discuss ways and means of implementing peace agreements in CAR. During the meeting, several sessions will discuss key issues, notably the political difficulties and the religious dimensions of the conflict that hinder the establishment of peace in CAR. The OIC has provided from the beginning of the crisis in CAR assistance by supporting dialogue to achieve peace and national reconciliation by maintaining its active engagement at the political, diplomatic and humanitarian levels. Continuing its commitment, the OIC joins international partners in organizing the Dakar Round Table, which will provide an appropriate platform for interreligious dialogue between religious and traditional communities to bring peace to the CAR. --SPA 18:45 LOCAL TIME 15:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w557739
