Kabul, 14 Shawwal,1437 AH, 19 July,2016 , SPA -- Afghan security forces pushed back Taliban militants following a day-long fight for territory in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province, officials said Tuesday according to dpa. Eight Taliban militants including a commander were killed, while one Afghan security force member was killed and four others were wounded, said Mahbubullah Saeedi, the head of Qala-e Zal district. The militants fled to remote areas of the district and the fighting has since stopped, Saeedi said. The fighting reportedly began early Monday morning when at least 100 Taliban militants attacked. Kunduz is one of the most volatile provinces in the north, with its capital briefly falling to the Taliban last year. -- SPA 10:45 LOCAL TIME 07:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
