In reply to a question on relations between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the US president stressed that the friendship between the two countries was existing for long decades through several US administrations, drawing the attention that the GCC countries and his country share constant cooperation as regards the fight against terrorism and cutting off funding for the activities of terrorist groups as well as combating Daesh terrorist group. He pointed out that progress has been made in the Syrian and Iraqi files and that the pace of tension was eased in Yemen because of the collective joint efforts with the GCC countries. The same took place in Libya which is witnessing a new government staunchly struggling to organize itself," Obama said, stressing that this would have not been done except for strenuous and effective diplomatic efforts with the United States and the United Nations.
