Washington, Rajab 12, 1437, Apr 19, 2016, SPA -- March 2016 was the warmest March since records by the US climate agency began in 1880, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said Tuesday, according to dpa. The average temperature over land and oceans was 1.22 degrees Celsius above the 20th-century average of 12.7 degrees, according to the agency's report for last month. The data for March 2016 was 0.32 degrees higher than the same month a year ago. The 10 previous months also set average temperature records for their respective months, NOAA said, "the longest such streak in the 137-year record." In March, particularly warm spots were observed in parts of Brazil, eastern and central Africa, Southeast Asia and northern and eastern Australia. Unusual cold was measured in far north-eastern Canada, north-western Africa and part of south central South America. 2015 was the warmest year since records have been kept, according to NOAA. -- SPA 21:10 LOCAL TIME 18:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
