Washington, Rajab 08, 1437, April 15, 2016, SPA -- A group of developing countries is supporting international efforts to fight the use of foreign tax havens, according to dpa. Colombian Finance Minister Mauricio Cardenas tells reporters at the spring meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund that the Group of 24 countries want to "put an end to tax havens." A G24 statement issued during the meeting says: "Effective international tax cooperation is an essential complement to our efforts to mobilize domestic resources." The group "strongly" supports participation by developing countries "on an equal footing" in international efforts to protect national governments' tax bases and combat profit-shifting by companies. --SPA 03:37 LOCAL TIME 00:37 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
