"We shouldn't count on the fact that international terrorism will continue to avoid Germany," Maas told the Saarbruecker Zeitung. Germany has been a potential target for an attack for a long time, he said. "However: Our security forces will do everything within their power to prevent such attacks and protect the people in Germany as well as we can," Maas said.
