Islamabad, Jumada II 6, 1437, Mar 15, 2016, SPA -- Pakistani army General Raheel Sharif Tuesday confirmed death sentences for 13 militants convicted by special, secret military courts, the army said, according to dpa. The courts were set up to punish militants after rebels stormed a school in the northwestern city of Peshawar on December 16, 2014, and killed at least 150 people, mostly students. General Sharif "confirmed death sentences awarded to another 13 hardcore terrorists," the army said in a statement. "[They] were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism," he said. It was not known when and where their trials were held, as the military court operates in secrecy to prevent militant attacks. Those convicted also include Irfan Ullah, who was involved in killing 10 foreign climbers in a militant attack near the base camp of Nanga Parbat peak in northern Pakistan in 2013. -- SPA 21:49 LOCAL TIME 18:49 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
