Vienna, Jumada I 26, 1437, March 06, 2016, SPA -- A Spanish woman died Sunday in the Tyrolean Alps when an avalanche swept her and a group of skiers and snowboarders down a steep off-piste slope near Innsbruck, local police reported, according to dpa. The 33-year-old woman, her Irish boyfriend and two friends had decided to try the slope after seeing other skiers taking the route in the Axamer Lizum ski area. But, when the group went down the very steep gully as well, an avalanche hit three of them and carried them down some 150 metres. While the man and one of the women survived, the Spanish woman was completely buried under the masses of snow. She was found and dug out within 10 minutes. Rescuers failed to resuscitate the woman, who had been living in Innsbruck. The Tyrolean avalanche monitoring service had issued a bulletin that warned of considerable risks in high-altitude gullies like the one in Axamer Lizum. --SPA 22:11 LOCAL TIME 19:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
