Washington, Jumada I 3, 1437, Feb 12, 2016, SPA -- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met separately in Munich on Friday with his counterparts from China and South Korea to discuss North Korea's repeated violations of Security Council resolutions and the need to coordinate closely with allies on the issue, the State Department said. In his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Kerry "reaffirmed U.S. commitments to security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and urged China to use their influence in Pyongyang to help the international community increase pressure on the DPRK," the department said in a statement. Meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, the top U.S. diplomat "reaffirmed the U.S. ironclad commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan and noted the vital importance of continued communication and cooperation among the three countries," the department said in a separate statement. --SPA 20:53 LOCAL TIME 17:53 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
