Riyadh, Jumada I 01, 1437, February 10, 2016, SPA -- The GCC Committee for Combating Infectious Diseases is to hold a meeting in Kuwait to discuss the outbreak of Zika virus, during 17- 18 February 2016. Director General of the Executive Office of the Council of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoja said that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared that the Zika virus outbreak is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. In remarks on Wednesday, Dr. Khoja explained that this issue will be discussed at the forthcoming meeting of the GCC Committee for Combating Infectious Diseases.
