Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Nigerian President Attend Signing Ceremony of Agreements

Abu Dhabi, Rabi'II 9, 1437, Jan 19, 2016, SPA -- Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, today held a meeting to discuss bilateral relations and attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreement between their two countries. During the meeting, the parties discussed ways of bolstering cooperation between the UAE and Nigeria in various spheres, with a focus on economic sectors, investment, trade and development, in order to serve the interests of the two countries and their people. Later, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Buhari attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreements between the UAE and Nigeria. These include an agreement on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion, signed by the UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, and Nigerian Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun. UAE Minister of Justice, Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, and his Nigerian counterpart Abubakar Malami signed four agreements: an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal affairs; an agreement on mutual legal assistance in civic and trade issues; an agreement on extradition of fugitive criminals; and an agreement on the transfer of convicts, WAM reported. --SPA 19:58 LOCAL TIME 16:58 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
