Cairo, Rabi'I 29, 1437, Jan 9, 2016, SPA -- An Egyptian appeal court has upheld a three-year prison sentence for ex-president Hosni Mubarak and his two sons, Jamal and Alaa, who were found guilty of embezzling 125 million Egyptian pounds worth of state funds that were intended for the maintenance of official residences but were instead used to upgrade the Mubaraks' private homes. The court's ruling came after it rejected the appeals the defendants have submitted against the Criminal Court's ruling in May 2015, in a new hearing, to become an irreversible verdict in any way of litigation. --SPA 16:01 LOCAL TIME 13:01 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
