BOGOTA, Colombia, Rabi'I 07, 1437, December 18, 2015, SPA -- Authorities from Colombia and Ecuador have captured a submarine-like boat hauling 3 metric tons of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean, according to AP. The semi-submersible vessel and its three crew members were taken into custody Thursday while trying to evade capture about 200 miles (320 kilometers) from the Galapagos Islands. Colombia's navy said in a statement that naval crews from the two countries with air support from the U.S. had been pursuing the vessel for four days. Since 1993, authorities have neutralized almost 100 semi-submersibles that drug traffickers use to move cocaine from where it's grown in the Andes to Central America and Mexico for eventual shipment by land to the U.S. Colombia and Peru are the world's two largest producers of cocaine. --SPA 23:33 LOCAL TIME 20:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
