Cairo, Rabi'I 5, 1437, Dec 16, 2015, SPA -- Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Dr. Nabil Elaraby has praised the announcement of the formation of an Islamic alliance to fight terrorism and the establishment of a joint operations center in Riyadh to coordinate and support military operations to combat terrorism and develop needed programs and mechanisms to defeat it. In a statement today, he stressed the Arab League's support for this initiative that will contribute to the coordination of efforts of the countries to participate in the alliance in the fight against terrorism in all its manifestations and forms and the adoption of specific mechanisms to combat terrorism militarily, politically and intellectually, as the confrontation with terrorism is comprehensive requiring the concerted efforts of all to counter and eradicate this dangerous phenomenon. --SPA 14:53 LOCAL TIME 11:53 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
