Washington, Rabi'I 3, 1437, Dec 14, 2015, SPA -- US President Barack Obama would "very much" like to visit Cuba in the coming year, but would insist he be allowed to meet with government critics while there, according to an interview released Monday by Yahoo News, dpa reported. "If I go on a visit, then part of the deal is that I get to talk to everybody," Obama said. He said he told his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro that as part of the rapprochement between the two countries, the US "would continue to reach out to those who want to broaden the scope for ... free expression inside of Cuba." Obama and Castro announced the historic resumption of diplomatic relations a year ago after more than five decades of emnity. Since then both countries have reopened embassies in the respective capitals, and the US removed Cuba from its list of states that sponsor terrorism. --SPA 20:47 LOCAL TIME 17:47 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
