Brussels, Safar 26, 1437, Dec 8, 2015, SPA -- The European Union and San Marino signed on Tuesday an information-sharing agreement to end the micro-state's tradition of banking secrecy, as part of efforts to crack down on tax cheats, dpa reported. San Marino, the tiny independent republic nestled in the hills of central Italy, had initially resisted demands to exchange account-holder information. But the country has come under increased pressure as the battle against tax evasion gains traction globally. Switzerland and Liechtenstein this year signed similar deals with the 28-member EU. --SPA 20:02 LOCAL TIME 17:02 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
