Johannesburg, Safar 24, 1437, Dec 6, 2015, SPA -- A "despicable" suicide attack on a market on an island in Lake Chad that killed more than 30 people once again shows the brutality of insurgent group Boko Haram, the UN said Sunday. The attack, carried out by four female suicide bombers on Koulfoua island around 2 pm on Saturday, highlighted the need to fight Boko Haram in "a holitistic manner," a statement from the UN secretary-general's office said. Some 80 people were wounded in the attack, a military official told dpa, adding that the dead included the suicide bombers. --SPA 20:15 LOCAL TIME 17:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
