Saudi Arabia to Host Ministerial Meeting of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum

Riyadh, Muharram 18, 1437, Oct 31, 2015, SPA -- Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources will organize tomorrow the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum. The four-day meeting will be attended by 250 ministers, officials and experts in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development, representing 26 countries in addition to many international organizations and regional oil companies. The sixth Ministerial Meeting of the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum will provide policy and technical direction to the organization. The Ministerial is the highest decision-making body of the Forum, which is an international climate change initiative focused on developing cost-effective technologies for the separation and capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) for its transport and long-term safe storage. The initiative focuses on breaking down technical, economic and environmental barriers to improving CO2 capture and sequestration (CCS) technologies.
