OIC Secretary General Urges the Opposition in Guinea to Avoid Causing Unrest Following Elections Results

Jeddah, Muharram 6, 1437, Oct 19, 2015, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Ameen Madani commended the people of Guinea on their enthusiastic participation in the electoral process in the presidential election that took place on 11 October 2015. Madani appealed and urged all stakeholders, especially those who ran for elections, to avoid confrontation and actions that might lead to unrest in the country; and called on all the candidates, as statesmen, to always consider the higher interest of Guinea and to channel whatever demands they might have through legal and constitutional means.
