Ramallah, Dhu-AlHijjah 26, 1436, Oct 10, 2015, SPA -- Israeli military forces Saturday shot and killed a Palestinian in occupied East Jerusalem, and two others died of wounds sustained yesterday during clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank and on the border with the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. It said today's fatalities brought to 10 the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire since yesterday morning when anti-Israeli protests swept the occupied territories and spread to Gaza. More than 200 Palestinians were also wounded during the violence, in which troops used live fire, rubber bullets and tear gas against stone-throwing protesters. The ministry said one Palestinian was killed by police in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Musrara, while another died in the Shufat refugee camp on the northern fringes of Jerusalem. A third Palestinian died from his wounds in Deir al Balah in the Central Gaza Strip, the scene of fierce confrontations Friday which left at least six Palestinians shot and killed by troops. The latest casualties raised to 17 the number of Palestinians killed and over 1,000 wounded by the Israelis since the start of the month of October. The violence was triggered by provocative visits by Jewish settlers, ultranationalist Jews and right-wing Israeli officials to Islam's third holiest shrine, the Haram al Sharif compound in Jerusalem's walled Old City, which houses the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa mosques. In the city of Hebron, in the southern West Bank, settlers from the nearby settlement of Kiryat Arba rampaged through a neighborhood in the city, attacking Palestinian homes, but no casualties were reported, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. --SPA 18:11 LOCAL TIME 15:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
