Paris, Dhu-AlQa'dah 27, 1436, Sep 11, 2015, SPA -- Two Galileo satellites reached orbit on Friday, bringing Europe's satellite system closer to operation, dpa quoted the European Space Agency (ESA) as saying. The two satellites reached orbit after launching from ESA's spaceport in Korou, French Guiana. The satellites are number nine and 10 of 30 that are scheduled to be launched. Earlier this week, ESA scientists said they expect the Galileo navigation system to begin operation next year. They did not give a specific start date. The satellite system is slated to provide navigation services - similar to the Global Positioning System operated by the US government. --SPA 12:15 LOCAL TIME 09:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
