Cairo, Shawwal 20, 1436, August 05, 2015, SPA -- The Arab Peace Initiative Committee held a meeting today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers, headed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Secretary-General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Elaraby. The Saudi delegation to the meeting was led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar Madani. The foreign ministers of the Arab Peace Initiative Committee in their statements during the Committee's meeting in Cairo today valued efforts by the late Prince Saud al-Faisal in support and service of Arab and Islamic nations' causes, especially the Palestinian issue, praising the role he played in the proposal to establish the Arab Peace Initiative Committee to follow up the implementation of the initiative adopted by the Beirut summit of 2002.
