Asked to comment on a call by Yemeni foreign minister for establishing a safe haven, Asiri said His Excellency the Yemeni minister is part of the operation and of the coalition and that the current military plan is proceeding upon schedule, citing that the airstrikes are now giving ripe and that the land phase will be announced on due time. He cited that in 1990, during the Kuwait liberation operation, airstrikes went on for nearly five to six months while the land operations took only 100 hours. Asiri drew the attention to a detailed report presented to the United Nations by the Yemeni government representative on the militia practice against Yemeni citizens. He added that the UN Red Cross announced today through its spokesman that the situation in the Yemeni city of Aden is catastrophic due to the militia practices. Following grave losses on the ground in Aden, the Houthi militia in Aden opted to shell homes and citizen gatherings, and cut off water and electric power from some districts according to TV footage transmitted by impartial circles.
