Georgetown, Guyana, Jumada I 9, 1436, Feb 28, 2015, SPA -- The President of Guyana is expected to soon dissolve the South American country's parliament after suspending it last November to avert a no-confidence vote, AP reported. Donald Ramotar had pledged to dissolve the opposition-controlled National Assembly by the end of February. Assembly Clerk Sherlock Isaacs said Saturday he was notified that the presidential proclamation to dissolve the body was ready but he had not yet seen it. General elections are scheduled for May 11. Ramotar's People's Progressive Party is seeking a sixth consecutive term. -- SPA 20:28 LOCAL TIME 17:28 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
