It was the group's first attack on a politician this year. In 2014, al-Shabaab killed at least five lawmakers in Somalia. Abdullahi Qayaad was killed inside his car in the Hamarjajab district of the capital, Mogadishu, on Monday morning, according to police capatain Mohamed Dahir.
