Washington, Rabi'II 10, 1436, Jan 30, 2015, SPA -- NASA delayed until Saturday the scheduled launch of a satellite that would aid scientists in predicting floods and droughts amid climate change, dpa reported. The delay was prompted by the need for minor repairs to the Delta II rocket, its sponsors said Friday. The launch is now slated for 1420 GMT Saturday from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. It was the second delay for The Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite, which was originally set to launch on Thursday, and then shifted to Friday. -- SPA 23:02 LOCAL TIME 20:02 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
