MONROVIA, Liberia, Safar 27, 1436, Dec 19, 2014, SPA -- UN chief Ban Ki-moon is visiting the countries hardest hit by the Ebola crisis in West Africa. According to AP, Ban is meeting Friday with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf before heading to neighboring Sierra Leone, where he'll also meet with the president there. On Saturday, the U.N. secretary-general will travel to Guinea. Ban says the United Nations will stand with the people in the Ebola-ravaged countries until the disease is defeated. During a visit Thursday to Ghana where his trip started, Ban said: "We must make sure that the last case of Ebola is identified, treated and eliminated." The current Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed more than 6,900 people since the disease emerged in Guinea a year ago. --SPA 14:08 LOCAL TIME 11:08 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
