Strasbourg, Safar 26, 1436, Dec 18, 2014, SPA -- The European Parliament on Thursday endorsed a political and trade agreement with Georgia, the third such deal to be ratified with an eastern EU neighbour in three months. According to dpa, the pacts frustrated Russia, which has expressed concerns that they could hurt its economy and are incompatible with a separate free trade zone it has established. The agreement voted 490-76 on Thursday aims to create closer political ties and remove trade barriers between the EU and Georgia. It will now have to be ratified by the bloc's 28 member states before it can come into force.
