Singapore, Safar 03, 1436, November 25, 2014, SPA -- A university in Singapore has announced plans to launch two satellites, one of which will be the country's first climate satellite, dpa reported. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) will have the two satellites ready for launch in the last quarter of 2015, the university said. The first satellite, the VELOX-CI, will be used to study tropical climates. The other, VELOX-II, will be carrying experimental communication hardware. The launches "will help Singapore in its quest to establish a space industry," said Director of NTU's Satellite Research Centre Associate, Professor Low Kay Soon. --SPA 14:59 LOCAL TIME 11:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
