Washington, Dhu-AlHijjah 22, 1435, October 16, 2014, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama Wednesday urged European leaders to do more to counter the Ebola outbreak, the White House said. In a videoconference call, Obama urged British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to “make a more significant” commitments to global efforts to stop the epidemic, which has already claimed nearly 4,500 lives, the White House said in a statement. On Tuesday, Obama had expressed frustration with the pace of the international community’s fight against the deadly virus. “The world as a whole is not doing enough,” Obama said Tuesday. “There are a number of countries that have capacity that have not yet stepped up.” “All of us are going to have to do more,” the president said. --SPA 11:25 LOCAL TIME 08:25 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
