Washington, Dhu-AlQa'dah 15, 1435, September 10, 2014, SPA -- The United States said Tuesday it will factor in the “mostly holding” conditions of the Ukraine-Russia ceasefire agreement as it reviews imposing additional sanctions on Russia. The ceasefire agreed on Friday between Kiev and pro-Russian rebels has been mostly successful despite reports of mortar attacks and gunfire in areas such as the Donetsk airport and Luhansk. “It’s something we’re continuing to monitor,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said in a briefing. Harf said the United States is in the process of finalizing additional sanctions on Russia, but “we are going to make decisions based on what is happening on the ground in the next few days.” The United States is also working with the European Union (EU) to “both deepen and broaden our sanctions across Russia’s financial, energy, and defense sectors,” Harf added. --SPA 11:30 LOCAL TIME 08:30 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
