Manila, Jumada II 6, 1437, Mar 15, 2016, SPA -- Two soldiers were killed Tuesday in an ambush by suspected extremist militants in the southern Philippines, dpa cited a military commander as saying. The army intelligence officers were riding a motorcycle when they were attacked in a village in Patikul town on Jolo island, 1,000 kilometres south of Manila, Brigadier General Alan Arrojado said. The soldiers were on their way back to their camp from a meeting with an informant, he said. "They were apparently monitored by the terroris Abu Sayyaf group's spotters," Arrojado said. --SPA 12:00 LOCAL TIME 09:00 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
