Dr. Al-Zayani stressed that the inherent problem looming over the region for decades is the now-stalemated Middle East peace process due to Israeli intransigence and denial of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national soil. Dr. Al-Zayani said that balance of power in the Middle East is currently being restructured, pointing out that the GCC and other Arab countries of concerted concerns have united their stances on defense and security issues which resulted in the normalization of relations and entrance into new alliances among regional partners. "This new style of thinking has clearly emerged in Yemen, where the Arab coalition is working to restore the legitimate government, security and stability in brotherly Yemen, and maintain the security of the important international waterway of Bab Al-Mandab," he stated. He pointed out that the security and political situation in Syria are changing almost daily, especially with the amount of death and destruction that occur and the Russian active performance in the crisis through its surprising military intervention. "I feel we are approaching some form of a turning point where we must witness a settlement to end this tragedy," he said. --More 00:03 LOCAL TIME 21:03 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
