Istanbul, Muharram 05, 1436, October 29, 2014, SPA -- Rescue efforts were ongoing Wednesday at a coal mine in southern Turkey where 18 workers are trapped underground, even as a minister warned time was running out to save them, dpa reported. Water has flooded underground areas at the coal mine in Karaman province, about 400 kilometres south of Ankara. "Time is working against us," Energy Minister Taner Yildiz was quoted as saying late on Tuesday by the state-run Anadolu news agency. Rescue teams were managing to reduce the water levels in the gallery below ground, he updated on Wednesday morning.
